Darcy Hawkins Journal Ep. 2.1
Well, it seems we are sitting in a better position as a town, but that is all surface stuff. Now that I am working in the office literally right under the Army’s nose, I can really see what is going on. I am able to grab the paperwork that comes into Major Beck, and grab all I can for Rob to see. Now, Rob asked me to not do this, and I hate to disrespect his wishes, but I am there and its a situation where its important that I get all the info I can.
Rob seems to think the Army (and Valente) are really looking for Sarah, because she was to have killed my family off, but deep in my heart I know this can’t be true because Rob was traced on the computer while New Bern was attacking Jericho. But Rob is the trained person, and I am just going on instinct here so I will follow his lead. In Major Beck’s office I was handed some papers to distribute to the other people in his command, and the top paper was indeed a wanted poster for Sarah Mason. His orders to the soldier’s was, it’s a manhunt.
When Rob asked me to meet him at the cabin belonging to Jake’s Grandpa I tried my best to not be followed, however I guess I slipped up some where, because shortly after I got to the cabin, Rob and I heard a noise outside. He even asked me if I had been followed, and when I said I didn’t think so, he was not very happy with my answer.
He got his gun, and as he went out the door he told me I knew what to do. Thank God I left the kids at the Taylor’s, because having them to worry about at that moment would have made it too hard to concentrate on helping Rob.
He went outside, and I kept an eye on him from inside. I had my weapon ready, and ask I saw him enter the barn, I crept outside and carefully made my way to the barn, keeping my eyes open for who ever was out there.
Rob went into the barn, and from behind him a man in army uniform came up behind him with his gun loaded. He ordered Rob to drop his weapon, and as he and Rob were talking, I came up behind him with my weapon drawn and ready. Rob introduced me to the man, Chavez. Rob and he went over a map, and I was asked by Rob to stay to listen to their talk about what is really going on. Chavez explained how well Cheyenne is doing, but told us about a ‘wild-card’ in the whole game, Texas. Then Rob told Chavez about the evidence he has to expose Cheyenne, the bomb in our possession.
I am glad that I am able to be calm in this situation, but honestly I am a mother, a caregiver and it’s only because of the worlds situation that I am holding this gun right now.
But make no mistake about it, as long as Rob and my family are in danger
and need my support, I will continue to hold this gun steady,
I will protect my family from who ever threatens them.
